Rules and Information

PLEASE NOTE...THE SPECIFICS WILL BE AMENDED asap (these are 2017's). BUT CHANGES WILL PROBABLY ONLY BE TIMES.

Route:- At 10.30 the start will be from the Beach at Y Felinheli, all rafts then have to head North East towards the Bridges - Rafts must then pass under Britannia Bridge, mainland side arch (the right hand side) and then leave Ynys Gorad Goch and the Swellie Rock on the port side (your left hand side) - then under the main span of the Suspension Bridge

Carry on down the right hand side of the Strait before crossing towards Anglesey, to go around the mooring Barge. Then to the Finish line.

The Finish will be between Princes Pier Wharf and the moored dinghy with a large floating marker inside it and you will be heading back towards the Bridges

To qualify as a finisher each person, in each raft, will then proceed to the Princes Pier Wharf and hand in their Numbered Tally Band to the Count Marshal  (this is a very important safety check).

Raft Recovery

Please phone for your support team only when you get to the slipway to avoid chaos – trailers without rafts and rafts without vehicles is a big problem

Please Note

We are giving a trophy for the most Funds raised for a Charity. – Over the next couple of weeks you will receive a phone call/e mail to find out how well you have done. – Who ever is the winner they will be awarded this trophy given by Elim Garages.

WARNING

So far we have had no reports this year that there is any increase in the number of jellyfish. If you do get stung let the medics know and/or treat it with vinegar until hot water is available [from Wikipedia  Applying vinegar to common jellyfish stings deactivates the nematocysts; however, placing the affected areas in hot water is a more effective treatment because the venom is deactivated by heat.
