which is held annually on the majestic waters of the Menai Strait. The spectacular backdrop of Snowdonia’s mountains and the Isle of Anglesey’s natural beauty contribute to the uniqueness of this fun and challenging day of rafting and raising money for good causes.
Starting from the old slate port of Felinheli rafts proceed past historic Plas Newydd and on towards Porthaethwy (Menai Bridge). En route passing beneath the iconically spectacular engineering and structural feats that link Anglesey to the mainland - the Britannia and Menai bridges, built by Robert Stephenson and Thomas Telford; and navigating the notorious and occasionally demanding Swellies.
The Raft Run was resurrected twelve years ago and is once again a fixture in the calendar - a day of endeavour and fun in aid of charity and local good causes.
A prize giving ceremony will be announced in due course in conjunction with donating the funds to local good causes.
The raft classes are:
Time Chasers • Best of the Rest • Best Entered Raft or 'Judges Choice' – as deemed by the Judges • Best Junior Raft • Best Ladies Raft • Best Endeavour • Best Fancy Dress • Entertainment Value • Last Duck Home.
The Elim Trophy will be won by the raft that raises the most money. Depending upon entries there will also be a Best Pub Trophy. All teams, successfully completing the route will be awarded a certificate
